MUDI'S S.A LAUNCH PART-2

By all standards the new branch opening of Mudi was very grand, literarily it was as if the major Nigerian community, in that beautiful town had been waiting for such an occasion, so they turned out very well, about 15 of us had left Lagos for Joburg on an Arik flight to show support for one of the very great things to have come out of Nigeria-that’s the eponymously named brand-MUDI, on the flight sitting comfortably at the business class end, were Nollywood superstars like Ramsey Adetokunbo Noauh, Ini Edo, later to join us a day after was Desmond Elliot, yours truly was there , also Azuka Ogujuiba of This Day now famous Fairground, Basorge Tariah jnr, the S.A to Richard Mofe Damijo-who is a commissioner in Delta state Uforma Kerewi was also with us, so also was Mudi himself and his wife, ably supported by his younger brother Akpos who runs the Nairobi branch, and his elder brother, a friend of his who is a security expert Victor Enosegbe was also on hand to lend support, as well has Mudi’s official photographer, Mr. Joshua
We landed very smoothly at the very beautiful and imposing Oliver Tambo Airport, in Johannesburg after our more than 5 hours flight, we were well taken care of by the hostesses on board, we were met at the airport by Mudi’s manager in S.A, Mr. Ben who had arranged everything to the last (t),waiting for us at the arrival hall was one of the best Nigerian export to South Africa in the person of Warebi Martha, atop model in that country, we were all ushered into about 4 cars and taken to our hotel-the CITY LODGE located at the FOURWAYS PRECINCT of Joburg, just next to the very imposing MONTECASINO-which comprises of various casinos, shopping arcades and much more, our excellently beautiful hotel, though a 3 Stars hotel, take would rival many of the so called 5 stars hotel in Nigeria, the view was stunning, location was fantastic, rooms were waoh!, services were excellent, apparently those who brought us in had our comfort in mind, at the hotel you are welcomed by some of the most beautiful to eat muffins in the world, that’s in the morning and it’s for free!!,I especially recommend the carrot flavored ones-they are heavenly, we were given our room keys and off to rest we went to prepare for the day of the launch.
The well set store is located in a very beautiful estate, so beautiful that it makes one sad that things are not generally working at home ,Joburg is generally beautiful, and truth be told we are very far from them infrastructure wise, it would take us at least, a hundred years to try to catch up ,sometimes you wonder if you are truly inside an African country, MUDI’S store is located at Carlswald Décor Center, by corner 5th/6th street & Harry Galaun drive, Half way Gardens, Midrand, a very beautiful suburb of Joburg, the tape cutting and opening was done by the Consular General of Nigerian Consulate in South Africa, Mr. Okey Emuchay, he was ably supported by many of the consular top ranked staffs one of which was Ichie Ifeanyi Omeokachie, a minister plenipotentiary, also there was the owner of the best Nigerian eatery in Joburg called the Homebaze African Cuisine-Mr. Kenn Ayere a former civil servant, who seem to have done very well for himself, I especially recommend the Pounded Yam with Efo,with Oxtail and goatmeat or the Efo and Fish, it is heavenly, a breath taking opening, I must say, please enjoy the photo speak. All pixs were personally taken by me.
