OOOO WHAT A SAD DAY, WHAT A BLACK SUNDAY! SALUTE TO YOU ALL THAT WE LOST

Sunday, June 3, 2012 would not be forgotten in a hurry, by all. It was the day at sometime after 3PM that the ill-fated Dana Airline flight from Abuja enroute Lagos crashed just 11 Nautical Miles from its destination- the MM2, Lagos. Onboard the flight was a hundred and fifty-three Nigerians and some other Nationalities, who if they had being told what would happen to the flight, would not have taken it.

All the lives on board perished, with more numbers on the ground that has not been ascertained for a fact. What an irreparable loss! At least from the estimations of the authorities not less than a hundred and sixty lives have been sent prematurely to the great beyond.. The pain is much, the anguish is terrible and the loss unbelievable, a hundred and sixty lives just like that! Many thousands and hundreds of thousands and by extension millions have being touched by this terrible loss. How can one console the friends, family members (Moms, Dads, Wives, Husbands, Kids, Girlfriends Boy-friends, Siblings and Cousins etc), co-workers of the dead ones?

At times like this, one is always short of words, because there is really nothing that one can say, that can help to take the pain away. How do you explain to anyone the loss of a whole family? Father, wife and 3 kids, plus the wife was pregnant with the fourth one and her mother was also on the flight. How do you explain to a father or a mother, the loss of their brilliant son or daughter, how would one console a little girl or boy, who would not see either of his or her parents again? What can be done now at this time of great need for the bereaved?

So life is this fleeting, here now and gone forever, never to be seen again, except in the memories of the loved ones. Why, Why, Why?

To all who have lost a loved one, we can only commiserate with you, we feel and share your pain; we pray that the Almighty in His infinite mercy would console you all. We cannot explain why it happened, we are only mere mortals, and there are some deep things that are beyond our comprehension.

We pray that God would give you all, the strength to bear the irreparable loss. Though we know personally, some of those who have gone on to be with the Lord, we would not single out anyone particularly. We pray that God would grant you all eternal rest.

In all things, either in Life or in Death, we give God the glory. We have being blessed by the words of a particular song titled- Great is Thy Faithfulness written many many decades ago by Thomas O. Chisholm (1866-1960), we hope and pray that the words would soothe the spirits of all at this time-

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever will be.
Refrain:
Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand hath provided;
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain

May your SOULS REST IN PEACE

** Correction **, it was the Father, wife and 4 children. The baby was 5 months old. The grandmother (wife mother) was also on the flight

How does a family heal from this , only God knows...RIP , sad is an understatement

Well airspace was closed because of Dame Pashie. She came for naming ceremony at Oriental and on her way back to Abuja. Airspace closed for two hours and MAY DAY distress call was not honoured by airport authorities. Both engines were gone and no fuel. We are so primitive in this nation. The blood is on her head now whether it was her fault or not. Crazy country.

Word of advise, never travel with your entire family on same flight. Break the parties up. Please.
